About Us
Combining fashion, culture and the allure of travel, Signature Accents helps you salute your hometown or pay tribute to a great city you've visited. Our collectible line of opulent silk accessories commemorates some of our country's favorite travel destinations.

In 1998, the first City Scarf was designed by a creative team for the San Francisco Mayor's Office of Protocol. Mayor Willie Brown gave the elegant scarf, printed with cherished landmarks of the city, such as cable cars, the Golden Gate Bridge and Victorian row houses, to visiting celebrities, dignitaries and VIPs. Sophia Loren, Hillary Clinton and Mrs. Anwar Sadat were among the recipients.

The scarves were a big hit, and launched Signature Accents. Since then, we've expanded to create scarves and neckties that highlight more of your favorite vacation spots.

CEO Maria Simone
Maria Simone is founder and CEO of Signature Accents. Before the formation of SA, Simone was managing partner of DreamScout, an Arizona-based business development firm specializing in start-up companies. She assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs with business planning and growth, capital formation, product development, manufacturing and distribution. www.dreamscout.com

She is also a trainer for IBI Global, an international entrepreneurial training and networking organization.

When she earned her BS degree in Clinical Pharmacy from St. John's University, Simone began her career in business development roles for several large health-related organizations (hospice, home health, pharmaceutical research, medical device exporting), eventually leading her to manage several multi-million dollar accounts. She has an extensive background in operations, sales, marketing, licensing and contract negotiations.
